Coronavirus vaccine unlikely before 2021, says Centre after row ICMR’s August 15 launch deadline

Amid row over Indian Council for Healthcare Research’s (ICMR) August 15 release time frame, the Narendra Modi govt on Sunday clarified that no coronavirus vaccine applicants, including India’s Covaxin and ZyCov-D, could be prepared for general public use before 2021.

“Half a dozen Indian firms will work on the COVID-19 vaccine.
