Agartala: Terming the victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Tripura as a ‘historic one’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that his party has lightened a lamp of progress and prosperity in the state.

While addressing a gathering at the oath-taking ceremony of Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, the Prime Minister said that this election results in Tripura have re-kindled the hope and aspirations not only for the people of Tripura but also for the entire country.

PM said that the historic polls in Tripura would be discussed for long in future. He congratulated people of Tripura for peaceful polls.

PM also assured the people of Tripura, that govt will work for the welfare of both, those who have voted for BJP and those who have not worked for BJP. He said that solution of Tripura’s problems a collective responsibility of government.

Prime Minister said that he visited Northeast more than 25 times over the last four years as Prime Minister. He said that these visits were not political in nature but were aimed at ensuring closer integration of the region with rest of the county.

PM said that North Eastern regions, which have been the focus of the NDA govt, has great potentials for development,. He stressed that ‘Sab ka Saath, Sab ka Vikas’ has been the motto of government.
