Five Punjab cops in jail for militancy-time crimes to get freed


The ministry of residence affairs (MHA) has authorized a proposal from Punjab government to release five law enforcement officials staff through the state who have been helping life sentence for offences dedicated during militancy in Punjab.

The choice has come fortnight after the MHA decided to release eight Sikh prisoners, lodged in various jails in the united states for carrying out criminal offenses during the militancy in Punjab.

“The federal government of India has recognized the demand of the government of Punjab for offer of special remission and discharge of five Punjab Law enforcement staff undergoing sentence in different jails in Punjab for offences fully commited during militancy period in Punjab,” a property ministry official said.

The aforementioned selection continues to be approved on “humanitarian and caring considerations” and a conversation to this impact was sent on Monday to the Punjab authorities to take necessary action.
