Jammu and Kashmir panchayat bypolls postponed by three weeks over security issues

The by-polls to panchayats planned from Mar 5 in Jammu and Kashmir have been postponed as a result of stability motives, J&K Chief Electoral Police officer (CEO) Shailendra Kumar mentioned on Tuesday.

By-political election to over 12,500 panchayat car seats in Kashmir and Jammu was timetabled to get located in eight levels from Mar 5.

“The bypolls to panchayats have become postponed for 3 several weeks on account of stability factors,” Kumar shared with PTI this evening.

He stated this method was used after inputs provided to him from the residence office over stability problems.

The eight-phase poll was earlier timetabled to become organized from Mar 5 to Mar 20 with a bash basis. The polling was slated for March 5, Mar 7, Mar 9, Mar 12, March 14, Mar 16, Mar 18 and Mar 20.

“We organized a meeting of all the parties of Kashmir and Jammu to listen to their issues. They raised some grievances in the conference,” Kumar experienced shared with PTI.

Through the conference, J&K Congress v. p . G N Monga mentioned despite issuance in the notices through the political election section, the party’s chief from the union territory G A Mir had not been allowed to pay a visit to Srinagar to hold meetings in relationship with the bypolls.

PDP frontrunners did not participate in the meeting mainly because it thinks that the polling cannot occur in case the authority continues to be under detention, one among its director explained.
The CPI(M) criticized the CEO for neglecting to encourage their party to the reaching and depicted issue over it.

“We were not asked to the conference. Our company is a national party. It really is a question of issue for all of us,” CPI(M) innovator M Y Tarigami told PTI.
