Veteran opener Tamim Iqbal was on Sunday named Captain in the countrywide one-working day aspect, swapping tempo bowler Mashrafe Mortaza.
Mashrafe stepped down as ODI captain in the week once the third and final ODI of a three-go with sequence against Zimbabwe.
“The board has unanimously picked Tamim Iqbal as our new ODI captain,” Bangladesh Cricket Board Leader Nazmul Hassan announced with a hit convention following a getting together within the regulating body’s board of company directors.
“We thought of appointing a captain to get a quick duration then giving the task to a person else the new year. But we finally decided against a short-expression consultation. Hopefully, Tamim would provide for a long-expression,” he added.
Tamim’s appointment notices Bangladesh having three independent captains for the three different formats once more with Mahmudullah Riyad leading in T20Is and Mominul Haque in Assessments.
