Following the success of Suriya’s Thaana Serntha Kootam, its director Vignesh Shivn had committed to another project for producer Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green with Sivakarthikeyan.
The untitled project was supposed to mark the first time collaboration of Siva and Vignesh Shivn, and was slated to go on the floors later this year.
According to the industry grapevine, however, the film is no longer happening and Studio Green has instead decided to use Siva’s dates for a project with director Rajesh M, known for films such as Boss Engira Bhaskaran and All in All Azhagu Raja.
Speaking to Times of India, Rajesh said: “I can’t give out any details now, but yes, it’s true that we are in talks. The script has been finalised and we are discussing other modalities. We should be able to announce the project by this week.â€
Talking about the genre of the film, Rajesh said: “Sivakarthikeyan is a huge star among the kids and family audience love him to bits. So, this one will be a complete family entertainer which has its heart in its place.â€Â
Last seen on screen in Velaikkaran as a blue-collared worker in a fight against food adulteration, Sivakarthikeyan is currently shooting the rural comedy Seemaraja, which marks his third time collaboration with director Ponram.
The film also stars Samantha Akkineni and Simran in important roles. Siva also has a science-fiction film with Ravi Kumar in his kitty. This untitled project will have music by AR Rahman and it is slated to go on the floors from this summer.
Sivakarthikeyan is all set to debut as a producer for his friend Arunraja Kamaraj’s directorial debut. The film will have Aishwarya Rajesh as one of the leads with Sathyaraj in an important role. She’s will play a woman who wants to be a cricketer and Sathyaraj plays her father in the film.
Siva and Kamaraj go a long way back as friends. They were classmates from college and hail from the same town. The film will have music by Dhibu Ninan Thomas, who also happens to be the classmate of Siva and Kamaraj.
